May 14, 2007 7:44am: My favorite Screensaver was ported to Windows, wish I had known this earlier. I found a screensaver on my Debian machine called Substrate and just loved it, it is a amazing abstract screensaver that decorates your screen with line art that looks amazing. Check it out here to get a taste of it in action.

Well if you wanted it to work on Windows you were out of luck, well you were until now. You can download the screensaver and with a quick instal of the Delphi code it'll work in Windows.

What you do is get those two files, extract them and then install the Delphi binaries and place the w_substrate.scr in the C://windows/system32 folder. Then just load up the screensaver chooser and enjoy the art on your monitor.

May 12, 2007 10:58pm: So, I think it's time for a new desktop. I'm getting tired of the look of Windows and KDE. Granted I am running bblean on my windows machine, I need a new wall paper. I think my Linux machine once I remove my raid and put it in my Mythtv machine I'll try Kubuntu and Beryl. Beryl looks like it might be light enough and clean that I'll use my machine more. I dislike running Debian as a desktop, but it is better than Windows. I guess I should have thought about using it as my desktop before I started installing all the server apps and my raid....
